"SOL MATE" SOLAR LIGHT DESIGN (2017)

Inspired by various expandable emergency solar powered lights, the Sol Mate concept offers a balance between the versatility of disaster relief lights and the pleasure of using a sleek commercial paper light.
This light was designed thoughtfully, taking consideration of the optimal angle for charging in the sun depending on geographic location (41 degrees for NYC), is made of very minimal reused recyclable scrap wood and waterproofed paper pulp, with a solar voltaic cell powered LED.
Featuring various possible lighting positions, a buttonless conductive power switch, and superior aesthetic to current portable lighting solutions, the Sol Mate is meant to serve as a travel companion that brings light and delight wherever you go.
